A place to play.
A place to belong.
Protecting the spaces that bring our neighbors together, and creating more reasons to love Banneker Park.
More than a park.
A community legacy.
We believe every neighbor deserves a vibrant, safe, and welcoming place to connect, move, grow, and thrive.
NEXT GENERATION ↗
Keeping Banneker beautiful. Keeping our community connected.
The mission of Friends of Banneker Park is to partner with the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) in preserving and enhancing the Banneker Recreation Center and its natural beauty. As a vital link between the community and DPR, we work to keep the park safe, clean, and welcoming, including the recreation center, playgrounds, swimming pool, splash pools, basketball and tennis courts, and baseball fields. We also evaluate and introduce new programs at Banneker Recreation Center to complement those DPR already offers.
Be part of our mission ↗There's room for
everyone here.
From early morning tennis to summer pool days, Banneker Park is where our neighborhood comes alive.
THE BEST THING ABOUT OUR PARK IS THE PEOPLE IN IT.
